WWE 2K16 received mixed to positive reviews according to video game review aggregator Metacritic. Eurogamer called the game the "Best Wrestling Game In The Year" praising the game play changes and deep roster ,while nothing long load times.In a positive review ,IGN called the game "Step In The Right Direction" for the series and praised the game play and roster features ,but criticized overall inconsistency with in the game.Game spot rated the game a harsher four out of ten ,praising the 2k show case mode and the return of Jim Rosse on commentary but saying that "little else in the game makes much a positive impression".
